I was pleasantly surprised by all your reactions further to my first home deco post (my country house here) so let’s continue with my parisian apartment.
I moved to Paris 8 years ago and I first lived in a smaller apartment in the heart of the lively neighborhood of Oberkampf in the 11ème arrondissement. Then right before Lino arrived, I moved to the 14ème arrondissement, a much calmer, family neighborhood that fits me way better today.
I sought my Grail for almost 2 years and it’s a real estate agent whom finally found it for me. On the ground floor of a 1860’s building, I’m incredibly lucky to have a little yard. The little breath of fresh air that allows the country girl that I am to survive in Paris.
Today, let’s focus on my living-room, I’m dividing up the presentation of my apartment so it will be more digestible for you. It’s a big living-room open on the dining-room and the kitchen, I had all the dividing walls taken down.
The general style of my apartment is a mix between some industrial furniture and a few touches of Nordic inspiration. I have a passion for cabinets of wonders, they stand alongside several bargain-hunted items.
I have favored the grey, black and white tones mixed with some wood and a few touches of color like yellow or the basil-green cube on the opposite side.
At the center of the room, my couch, a big anthracite 3-seater. I ordered it on Made.com, it’s the Vittorio design. It’s not easy to choose a couch online but I was much helped by the different pictures, the detailed description and the video to make my choice.
Made.com is a really good deal if, like me, you like to buy designer pieces at reasonable prices. It’s a simple principle, Made.com limits intermediaries and by that logic commissions, which allows very competitive prices.
I received my Vittorio about 2 months later, home delivered, right in my living-room. All I had to do was assemble the legs and that was it. I spray-painted them mat black so they would go better with my interior.
AM.PM cushion – Monoprix Bout’Chou blanket
My coffee table comes from Miliboo.com, I voluntarily chose a rounded one to make my life easier with my baby, no stressing about the sharp corners of the table.
The white tabletop brings light to my living-room and the raw wooden legs match my wooden floor perfectly.
Diesel x Foscarini lamp – Truffaut mirror – Picture by Rob Murray
On the wall, a limited print from the photographer Rob Murray, I saw the exhibit in a gallery in Le Marais and I fell in love with this picture. I’m a big fan of Batman, I like the interpretation of the superhero, miffled and depressed, faced with the magnitude of the task.
Next to the big mirror, a lamp of industrial inspiration, a collaboration between Diesel and Foscarini.
I made these 2 terrariums 3 years ago now. The first one is a salvaged jar and a bought the second one in a second-hand store of the 11ème arrondissement.
If you want, I can make you a little tutorial for these terrariums since I have to replace my plants soon, I can take advantage of the occasion. Yes ? No ?
