Le style n'est pas une taille mais une attitude

VINEUSE

An easy to live with dress, lazy girls dresses as I like to call them.

All you have to do is add a few accessories and that’s it.

Well it’s also a “borderline” dress you need to know how to master. One accessory too many or not enough and the abyss of the no look will be your new home.

At my feet, a pair of sandals with the colors of the fall. I found them at COS, I already picture them with some navy tights for this winter. A way to keep a bit of sunshine in my future outfits.

I was feeling so good that day for a lunch in the countryside…

See you tomorrow for a new OOTD my dear readers !

THE CASE OF THE OPEN-BUST CAMISOLE beauty secret #1

I recently participated as a member of the jury to the Lingerie Awards launched by the lingerie website Lemon Curve, and I had the idea of this new section : Beauty secret.

I’ve tried on and analyzed dozens and dozens of pieces of lingerie and I thought that you might be interested in knowing a few new things (or not new for that matter) I have decrypted in details for you (be them lingerie or not).

Let’s start today with a piece of shapewear I’m absolutely a fan of. Very close from the brand Spanx, the american plus size brand Torrid has launched its own line of shaping lingerie.

I’ve already told you about the Spanx shorts here, today I will decrypt this weird kind of tank top.

Pros :

– you can wear your usual lingerie and it doesn’t hide your bra

– it doesn’t cover up the cleavage

– it straightens the rolls from the chest to all of the back and belly

– it doesn’t roll up thanks to its very large stay-up band on the bottom

– the whole part from the straps until the armpit is reinforced and super comfortable because it’s lined

– the support is variable thanks to the weaving

– you can wear it with a close-fitting top for example

– it’s invisible

– no need to wriggle when you go the bathroom

– it reduces the demarcation you can have with sculpting brieves

Cons :

– it keeps you a little too warm

– the straps are a bit wide for some dresses or tops

– it’s limited to the belly, for the rest you have the jumpsuit version with integrated shorts

– it’s ugly

I personally wear it with outfits underneath which I need to straighten my belly and back, when I wear loose skirts like skater skirts for example. Tested and approved in a hostile environment that is a day of work, it doesn’t cut blood flow or the belly in half.

I own 3 different types of shapewear : the shorts, the leotard (I’ve told you about it here) and this top. For me it’s the must-have range if you want to master your curves a bit.

Of course I don’t know this kind of shaping lingerie everyday but it’s an essential help when you don’t really want to show your little love handles off. These pieces also helps your posture, think about it for fancy outfits.

You can find this top on the Spanx website here.

I now leave you with these super sexy pictures !

What about you, do you wear shaping lingerie ?

NO RULES

Today, an outfit that breaks all the rules they try to impose to us.

Actually, I’m so fed up with all these sayings you can hear everywhere, they sound like guillotine blades. I’m all for tips, but I’m against rules, they’re made to be transgressed.

So F*** that, today it’s crop top and printed pants ! Ha ! Bang, I knock these stupid rules down.

You know it !

And you too, dear reader, don’t let any rule impose itself to you. Are we clear ?

A round of kisses for everyone, and have a good week.

REVUE DE SHOESING #11

I have begun to establish my collection of shoes for this fall/winter.

And I absolutely needed to show you these two wonders.

A pair of Derby shoes from &OtherStories : bi-material black leather, mat leather and “oily like” iridescent patent leather. OH MY GOD. I’m all love for them. The front reminds me of two beetles wings. Addicted to curiosities !

The boots are an extravagance from Chie Mihara. I don’t need to praise this brand’s incredible comfort anymore but it’s true, they feel like slippers. Shiny slippers of the night (stars in my eyes).

And you’ll see them in OOTDs very soon.

What about you, any purchases for the upcoming season ?

HOW TO BUY SUNGLASSES ONLINE

I have a bit of an addiction for sunglasses and I jealously keep quite a collection in a large drawer.

Most of my sunglasses come from online shops and I rarely (until now never, phew) make a mistake when I order sunglasses.

So I thought that you could use a little recap and a few tips about ordering glasses online.

1° How to choose the frame

Of course there’s no definitive rule, you know how I hate that, they’re more guidelines you can follow if you’re hesitating.

  • for a round face : give priority to the more geometrical lines (straight or tilted) like rectangular frames or a “cat’s eye” style for instance.

  • for an oval face : choose the frames that go down on your cheeks, they will restore the balance of your face, the aviator shape for example.

  • for a more elongated face : if you have a large forehead for example, big frames will dress your face, the retro shape like the “fly’s eye” type.

Note that rounded frames will give you more of a young, sweet look, and on the contrary straighter, more geometrical frames will give you character and confidence in your look.

2° How to choose your protection

Check your frames for the CE seal of approval, this logo is often written in white caps and shows that the product is conform to the European Community’s requirements.

Not everybody knows that but the solar protection factor of your lenses is written on your glasses. It’s the number next to the CE mention.

The category 0 means no sunbeams are filtered.

The categories 1 and 2 are adapted to medium and weak levels of luminosity.

The categories 3 and 4 are for strong sunbeams, like at the beach or the mountain. The category 3 is the one you’ll find the most. And it’s not recommended to drive wearing category 4 sunglasses.

3° How to measure your frames

It’s the safest way to choose your glasses and be sure they will fit you.

Take a tape measure or a ruler and your favorite sunglasses. Almost all of the online shops show the precise measures of the frame in millimeters, all you have to do then is compare the dimensions with your pair. Don’t forget to use the length of your bows. It can be very useful if you have to adjust the holding at ear level.

If you have a nose located a little below the line of the eyes, or a very thin nose, choose glasses with nose pads you’ll be able to adjust at your convenience.

Last tip : enter the exact reference of your future sunglasses on Google Image, that way you’ll be able to see other people with different types of faces wearing these sunglasses.

Have these explanations been helpful to you ? If that’s the case here’s a little contest in partnership with Sunglasses Shop.

Try and win a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses of your choosing !

It’s easy to participate, tell me your favorite design of Ray-Ban sunglasses (HERE) in a commentary down below, no need to put the link, the name will be enough.

You have until Monday 9/8/14, midnight.

Good luck to all of you !

PORCELAIN

A summer without a little coat wouldn’t be a summer that resemble me.

In my ever-expanding collection, I have recently adopted this porcelain printed piece. I’m crazy about it, it goes with everything. Yes yes, with everything, I have even worn it with leather jeggings and Nike sneakers two days ago.

It’s been on a quick trip to the retoucher to shorten the sleeves, it’s my way of wearing coats, I find it fancier, especially in summer.

I’m wearing a light denim dress underneath, I needed to give it more style with some orange touches on my lips, nails and feet. The little coat is the final touch.

Another word of extreme temptation : both of them are on sale right now on the Asos website, you can find all the links below the pictures. I know, it’s not right to tempt you, I’m sorry.

See you very soon for a little sunglasses-related contest.

KIYONNA SWIMWEAR

Another bathing suit I fell in love with this summer. Halfway between a mini-dress and a bathing suit, the details of the straps are mesh fabric and the frou-frous on the bottom are absolutely beautiful. The mini-skirt part can go up or down, depending on what you want. This bathing suit takes a while to dry but as I’m…
