Le style n'est pas une taille mais une attitude

MINI CHOSES #1

It’s a big first, my son Lino is making his entrance on the blog.

Don’t panic, I’m not going to become a children and mommies blog, but since the love of my life is closely standing alongside with my professional world, I find it natural after all that he could be able to appear in it from time to time.

For this first appearance, I felt like talking about nice, made in France products.

The pajamas Lino is wearing come from a collection imagined by 5 dads that were fed up with getting always lumbered with Cars or Mickey Mouse on their children’s pajamas. They then created Just Pyjama, cotton pajamas, made in France, at soft prices. The idea is also to mix the pajama tops and bottoms and with each match recreate a different set of pajamas.

I fully agree with this concept. Additionally, each set of pajamas comes with its own free gift wrapping, all for less than €15. Cool dads, huh ?

On his feet, leather moccasins created by a young mom in partnership with a podiatrist.

Lino uses this pair inside but they can also be used outside when the weather is dry. I love the fringe in the back, the elastic is super convenient to slip them on the feet of a wriggling little boy. I just felt like buying everything on the e-shop, these shoes/slippers are so convenient.

I took advantage of the situation to take a few pictures of Lino while he was playing, jumping on his bear and riding across the living-room on his racing car ! It rocked !

Welcome my little icing sugar ♡

A LA PHARRELL

Why “à la Pharell” ? Simply because of the hat that reminded me of Vivienne Westwood’s creation that Pharell wears. An excessive hat.

Outfit wise, I’m in love with this khaki mohair sweater from COS, I wear it with everything. I’ve been planning another color match that I will show you very soon.

My little gray coat you’ve already seen at the beginning of the season, and these 7/8 pants from Kiabi’s limited edition collection. A trendier collection, less silkscreen printing, a carefulness about the fabrics, and still small prices. Long story short, if you’re looking for little black pants, run to the nearest Kiabi.

To give them a touch of fun, I wore my Pas Chassé lurex socks. I recommend this website for their nice creations of socks, what’s good is that the fabric isn’t too thick, which counts if you have chubby feet.

On my arm, I took back out my Givenchy, exactly in the shades of khaki I have a fondness for this winter. We’ll get along just fine him and me this season.

I’ll leave you with some pictures, the links are below the pictures as usual.

Have a good beginning of the week !

POISON IVY (REDUCTION INSIDE)

Empire green, imperial green, I looked up the name of this green in a Pantone in order to give it a pretty name. At least as lovely as the outfit I’m wearing today.

I love this mix, I’ve never been scared of some glitter during the day, but it’s the first time I’m trying green sequins. And it’s beautiful, it’s dark, almost sober.

Of course I toned it down with the rest of the outfit. A big matching coat and a black sweater.

Even the shoes, which by the way are super comfy (I’m telling you), are quickly going to become essential this winter.

All of these beauties come from Dorothy Perkins’ and, like last month, sweet Dorothy is giving a treat to my readers because she knows you love her very much.

And beware, it’s crazy : 30% off on the entire Dorothy Perkins‘ website + free shipping, using the code exclusively reserved for you readers of this blog : LBDBBXDP30

I still want to introduce you to my little newbie. My Trunk’s twin brother, new Trunk and its metallic sides. My Gold Sand Marni is going to be able to take a little break, a little time for him to freshen up.

PICKTURE (CONCOURS INSIDE)

picture from The Tomkat Studio

You know me, I’m very active on social networks, it’s a great way to keep in touch but also to share things we like.

Through the things I share, I often encourage you to visit one website or another, and it’s not always easy to remember them, especially when you already have an overflowing list of bookmarks inside which you can’t see clearly at all anymore.

Today I’m going to talk to you about a new social network that’s going to make online shopping easier for you : Pickture.

It’s going to allow you, not only to file it in a list or a lookbook, but also to share it with your personal network.

And what I find really handy is that you can shop directly from Pickture, your pick is connected to the e-shop, all you have to do is order.

No need to find the link of the shop where you saw this little dress or the last tablet you absolutely want anymore, Pickture allows you to make all of your shopping in the same place.

Thanks to this network, you’ll be able to :

  • follow serial shoppers and draw your inspiration from their shopping list

  • create lookbooks for a project (for example redecorate your living-room and gather everything you need to make it)

  • create lists for an event (for example a christening, your birthday, Christmas, etc.)

Pickture, it’s also a trending space fueled by a team of experts. A community into which you’ll be able to find your favorite brands’ pages.

To top it all off, a good deals space that gathers all the applicable discount codes. Not bad, huh ?

To get familiar with this new social network, let me propose a little contest to spoil you before Christmas !

I made my own Christmas’ wishlist (that my Santa Claus might find useful this year, Santa if you’re reading this, dash off to Pikture).

And you lucky girls are going to be able to try and win 1 piece from my Christmas’ wishlist which is filled with beautiful gifts. You can find it here.

It’s easy to participate :

  1. Create your profile (that’s easy) on Pickture

  2. Create your Christmas’ wishlist and pick out the gifts you’d like (to pick, download the Pickture button that will then appear in your browser in the top lef-hand corner or add a picture)

  3. Then come share the url of your list containing about 20 items in a commentary down below

The deadline is November 20th, midnight

There you go, I now will let you start and discover this new network.

Good luck to you all !

LAQUE

A Monday that isn’t really a Monday if you’re lucky enough to have made it into a 4 days week-end. Be that as it may, let me share with you a little outfit I was wearing yesterday while I was taking a walk in the Marais.

I’ve completely fallen in love with this sweater with its large black vinyl band in the middle. The contrast between mat and lacquered is really gorgeous. Can you feel how crazy I am about it ?

To play even more with the contrasts, I took out one of my new blue velvet coats, very oversized.

You’ve already seen these perfect little jeans, they’re from Torrid, super well cut, perfect to wear with high heels.

A bright touch on my lips and I have an over all quite simple outfit but still elaborate by way of its fabrics.

Have a good beginning of the week !

NAVABI – STYLE COUNCIL #1

Today I have the pleasure to share with you the first look I imagined for the Navabi website.

Big news : this multi-brand website has chosen me to join the Style Council which is gathering together several international bloggers and I’m really glad and flattered to be one of them.

Thanks to this Style Council, you’ll be able to see different profiles, outfit ideas, tips, but also a shopping selection made by the bloggers you like.

I personally completely fell for this fake leopard fur coat, I’ve been looking for one for a long time. It’s not easy to find the nice pattern and a fabric that doesn’t look too cheap. This one is really great, the color of the coat is light, and one killing detail : the leather braid all the way along the length.

Underneath, I chose a quite sober outfit to make my coat pop and have a kind of rock&folk look thanks to my big hat.

As a finish touch on this silhouette, I chose my new shiny Boden loafers. They bring out the shades of the coat.

Come and see my first selection HERE on Navabi and discover the Style Council and its members HERE.

Have a good visit !

BLEU DE MYNT1792

You know about my love for navy blue, and this time I felt like going all the way. It’s my new black.

I completely played ball, right to my delightful stilettos.

To brighten things up, my faithful Marni who almost never leaves me anymore, it’s the real thing between him and me.

And for once I’m not wearing red lipstick but some fuchsia to give elegance to the blue. On my ears, a pair of earings that used to belong to my mom.

You know Mynt 1792, this high end american brand which offers clothes from size 12 to 26, I introduced it to you on this blog here.

I fell in love with these two pieces !

If you were to buy only one piece of navy blue clothing, I would recommand this dress (incidentally it also exists in black). Super well cut, great fabric, heavy like we want it to be, you’ll see it in future outfits very soon.

Have a good evening girls, tomorrow I’m going to London to pay a visit to our dear friend Boden, if you want to follow me you can do it on Instagram.

CÚRVIE CREW

Today I’m presenting a sweater I just loved to wear in Paris last week-end.

I admit I’m not a fan of messages on shirts and sweaters, even if you already saw some of them on the blog (“Believe in your selfie”, Lost in a dream)

And there, putting “CURVIE” up on my chest, it was like crossing a new border. I’m having trouble explaining it clearly, this feeling of stating something even more powerfully than usual. You know me, I’m not into statements, that’s not my thing. That’s probably why I felt like I was crossing a border.

I saw the almost envious look of certain people, women that felt relieved reading my message, as if they were thinking “phew, it feels good to be able to say/read it”. I’m probably seeing too far into things and giving too much importance to what I saw this week-end, but I wanted to share this with you.

What about you, tell me, how would you feel if you passed by a girl who was wearing this sweater ? If it creates a particular reaction of course, or maybe none at all after all.

Thanks to Tanesha from the “Girls with curves” blog for this sweater, I really feel like I’m part of a crew now !

Have a good Monday girls !

STELLA & DOT

Today I want to talk to you about a jewelry brand I was told about last week : Stella & Dot

I was instantly taken with the concept, the pieces, and I’m sure you’ll love it too.

Stella & Dot was born in 2004 from the mind of an american woman who loves jewels. She wears a lot of them and her friends often asked her where they came from, tips, stuff like that. Stella & Dot was born this way, at first with pieces she created herself, then the adventure was on the rise.

Why do I like Stella & Dot ?

First, you gotta admit the jewels are gorgeous, right now there are several designers with different tastes and universes who are working on the collections, so everyone can find jewelry according to their taste.

And also the jewels are well thought for everybody, which really appealed to me. The necklaces always have several clasps for different neck sizes, same goes for the bracelets, they come with extensions you can choose to keep or not. No more worries for wide wrists. Same goes for the rings, they’re all extensible, and not using metal bits that go into your skin, no they’re tested before so they’re comfortable.

Some necklaces can be worn in different ways thanks to multiple rows, pieces you can clip on, different lengths from chain to choker. Like this “Casablanca” design for instance.

The jewels are also guaranteed nickel and lead-free, made by craftspeople and hand-made. Very high quality jewels, high end but at reasonable prices.

And did you see the packaging ? The boxes in which we received these little wonders are adorable, they’re pretty gift-wrapped parcels to get for yourself or simply to give to someone. With the holidays coming up, I think there are quite a few women in your circle you could spoil with these.

Another thing that touches me : Stella & Dot has signed an american charter against the work of children, forced labor, modern slavery, so you can be sure that your jewels have not been put together by a little girl in a sordid factory in India. And it matters, no need to remind you of the tragedies that are still taking place everyday in the factories that work for Zara or H&M for example.

Finally, one last thing (yes, it’s a long post, you will have realized that this topic really interests me), I opened a shop on Stella & Dot on which you’ll be able to find all of the brand’s jewels (right here). It’s not reserved to me because you can do it too, you can become a “stylist”, wear these jewels and talk about them to your circle, create your own network. It’s pretty easy, everything is explained on the website, you start with a base of jewels like my selection for example and bam, this adventure is now yours too. You can join my team by listing me as a sponsor for instance, “StephanieZwicky”.

I hope you’ll like these jewels as much as I do, you’ll often see them as accessories in my outfits.

Enjoy your visit !

BALSAMIK

Here’s a brand I think you’ll enjoy as much as I do, BALSAMIK.

You’ve probably seen once or twice their happy end off the wall TV commercials. I hadn’t had a chance to try this brand until they called me to offer me to pick out an outfit.

Their e-shop is bursting with different styles and their strength lays into their choices of statures, cup depth, hip width, all of this from (french)size 38 to 54 (and up, for some designs).

BALSAMIK has its own label that plays around with every morphology, but also with brands we are already familiar with like Taillissime, Celaia, Anne Weyburn, etc.

For my first outfit, I fell for a piece I’d been searching for a long time now, by dint of seeing it on my girlfriends, I was drooling on this short padded jacket ! It’s available up until size 60 and it’s THE piece to have in your closet. You can either wear it alone like today, or slip it under a jacket or a coat this winter. So light and thin, that it’ll slide right into your suitcase, your vacation or overnight bag. The feathers keep you super warm and with my sweater on that day, I was able to face this little freezing wind that rose in the middle of the day.

With this little black sweater (that I can absolutely see worn with the front in the back and vice versa) I chose this ikat style black and white skirt. The milano bands on the side make it a comfortable piece to wear.

I added a fancy touch to my outfit with a shiny Shourouk necklace, I love the contrast with the padded jacket.

As you will have realized, BALSAMIK is both trendy and comfortable thanks to very well-thought morphology tricks.

What about you, do you know BALSAMIK ?
