Le style n'est pas une taille mais une attitude

HALLOWEEN AT DISNEYLAND PARIS

Okay, today’s post has nothing to do with fashion, but sometimes it’s nice to take a break, especially when that break involves falling back into childhood by going to Mickey’s !

My baby, well, my little boy is 21 months old and I was dying to take him to Disneyland. I didn’t really know how he was going to react and I think that my “experience” could interest you. On top of that, Disneyland has put up its Halloween decorations, which gave an even sweeter taste to our visit (it will last until the 7th of November).

I chose to spend only half of the day in the park, I knew that Lino was going to tire himself out quickly, with all the appeal, the crowd, the noise, the excitement. We got there at 2PM, which doesn’t change anything to the cover charge, I paid full price, that is €73 for 1 park. It’s free for kids until age 7.

As soon as we arrived, we got into the Halloween mood with all the little ghosts, the little pumpkins, and all the Disney characters who wore their costumes to give a sweet scare as they say. Lino was quite impressed by the ghost noises but especially by the characters whom he saw for real for the first time. I’ve rarely seen my little kitten be speechless but in this case it was pretty funny.

We watched the Halloween parade at 2:30PM, it’s shorter than the big parade but just as magical and not at all scary, Lino enjoyed it very much.

To avoid scaring him too much and especially to avoid the crowd rushing up to the Disney characters, I took Lino to Fantasyland where he had a lot of fun.

Sweeter, calmer, this area of the park is really adapted to little ones. I had not visited it properly yet for that matter, because I had always been to Disneyland with older children, my nephew or my godson.

I went with my son on many attractions that were really adapted, like :

  • Lancelot’s Carousel

  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant

  • Alice’s Curious Labyrinth

  • Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups

  • Storybook Land Canal Boats

  • Casey Jr. Circus Train

When you enter the park, it’s good to know that you can also rent a stroller if you’re afraid to leave yours in front of the attractions in the provided spaces. I personally didn’t, I had my YoYo with me and I had no problem. I was there during the week, there wasn’t a big crowd, maybe this can influence your choice.

There are several provided spots in the park to change your baby or warm up a bottle for example, it’s the american way, family friendly.

At the end of the day, around 5:30PM, we watched the second parade, the big parade, it was kind of the cherry on top of the sundae to end this beautiful day. Lino had a chance to recognize a few beloved characters, Mickey Mouse of course, Winnie the Pooh and his friends or Mr. Potato Head. He doesn’t know much about the Disney Universe yet, it should be said that I don’t bombard him with these films. We’ll see in a few years.

After a little bit of shopping on Main Street to buy a few souvenirs, including the famous Mickey balloon on which he had been drooling with envy all day. Maybe I should have bought it right when we entered the park, thus avoiding a few snatch-and-grab thefts.

When we got out of the park and right before Lino’s dinner time, we stopped at a diner near by, Annette’s. A retro, american style, burgers and all that. €14,80 for a children’s menu… But it allowed us to leave with the sunset, a beautiful view on the park.

There you go, I hope my experience has helped you if you were hesitating, and I especially hope I will have make you want to go and (re)visit Disneyland Paris. With me, the magic works every time, I’m 10 years-old there and I have so much fun.

Seeing stars in the eyes of my son that day was an additional gift, we’ll be back for sure !
